Swiss Army


The Swiss Army design house & iconic Original Swiss Army Knife are the best known, has a reputation for providing high quality, durable products. Karl Elsener opened his first cutlery workshop in 1884 in Ibach Schwyz, Switzerland. In 1891, he and his co-workers began delivering knives to Swiss Army soldiers, and the company's Cross and Shield emblem became a trademark in 1909. In 1921, Elsener introduced the company's present name, Victorinox, a combination of his late mother's name Victoria and the French word for stainless steel. The company went on to expand it's Swiss Army Knife and cutlery collections, as well as introduce its line of travel gear in 1999. Elsener's company became the family-owned Victorinox AG in 1979, and in 1989, the company began selling watches in the United States under the name Swiss Army. The design house launched its U.S. fashion line in 2001 with a selection of clothing items emphasizing practical luxury. From polo shirts and jackets to sweaters and shirts, the line features clothing options for both men and women.

In 2007 Company's fragrance division, Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG was established. It released its signature fragrance, Unlimited, a timeless scent for men, two years later. The company has released a wilderness inspired several women's & men's fragrances scents. These fragrances were made in collaboration with several perfumers, including Jean Pierre Bethouart, Fabrice Pellegrin, & Harry Fremont.
