Kimora Lee Simmons

11-year-old Kimora Lee Simmons was bullied for her height and her Korean Japanese and African American descent. Two years after her mother sent her to modeling classes, Kimora was discovered, sent to Paris and became the face for Chanel fashions. She had graced both the international covers and pages of Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar, and had been shot by some of the world's greatest photographers, including Steven Miesel and Patrick Demarchelier. In 1999, Kimora Lee Simmons founded an urban fashion company named Baby Phat. Serving as creative director and president, Simmons released hip hop inspired clothing, as well as her first fragrances through the label. Goddess, the first Baby Phat fragrance, released in 2005, is a jewel-like pink perfume with scents of rose, hyacinth, lilac, and gardenia. Baby Phat Golden Goddess came next, in 2006, encased in a similar jewel case but covered in gold and with a woodsy scent blended with sweet undertones. The Baby Phat Fabulosity fragrance pays homage to Simmon's best selling self-help book of the same title, published in 2006. This women's fragrance is notable for its container resembling a diamond and its powdery scent with a dash of sweet fruity fragrance coupled with honey and floral accents. Simmons left her position as Baby Phat CEO in 2010, but the brand continues to manufacture her fragrances plus others, such as Baby Phat Dare Me, Baby Phat Selective Goddess, and Baby Phat Luv Me in 2011.
