Costume National


Fresh from his tenure in Japan working as an assistant to Yohji Yamamoto, Italian designer Ennio Capasa, along with his brother Carlo, founded Costume National in 1986. With its first women swear collection presented in 1986, Costume National has become a mainstay on the fashion stage in recent years with stores being opened in Rome, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. Season after season, Costume National has been able to deliver innovative, cutting edge designs with the presentation of their wares divided within several different brands - Costume National for women swear, Costume Nation Homme for men and C.N.C for their urban street wear.

Very much an innovator in the world of fashion, Costume National is among the first in its industry to participate in eco-friendly designer wear. For 2008/2009 the company introduced its award-winning eco-friendly Solar Bag that incorporated solar panels in its design that fed a battery pack concealed in the lining that was capable of supplying power to mobile devices and accessories such as phones and computers. Costume National followed up the same year with limited edition t-shirts to support climate change project and encouraged a plant a tree project in celebration of Christmas.

Costume National launched their inaugural fragrance in 2002 and in keeping with their chic and understated style simply named it Scent and housed it in a rough, yet polished looking slab-like vessel. The similarly housed Scent Intense followed shortly thereafter as did Scent Sheer, Scent Gloss and 21. Their men's cologne offering is Costume National Homme.
