Swarovski

Swarovski is famous for its crystal jewelry and products throughout the world. It had its beginnings in 1895 when Daniel Swarovski invented the machine for cutting and polishing crystal jewelry stones and moved to Wattens, Tyrol in Austria. Swarovski was founded in the same year. Swarovski produces and sells both loose elements and products driven by design. It began creating precision-cut gemstones for the jewelry industry in 1965. In the same year, Swarovski launched crystals for chandeliers and lighting. In 1976, the first decorative crystal figurines were sold by the company, and one year later, the first Swarovski jewelry collection was introduced. Swarovski has become the global leader in the production of precision-cut crystal goods in the fashion, lighting and architecture industries. Swarovski has also expanded to create road safety products such as glass reflectors and precision tools.

For a fan of fragrances packaged in beautiful bottles, the company also produces Swarovski perfumes for women, such as Aura and Swarovski Edition. 1995 saw the opening of Swarovski Kristallwelten, a multi-media crystal museum, in Wattens. The Swarovski Crystal Society, founded in 1987, has approximately 325,000 members globally who are enthusiasts and collectors of Swarovski crystal. As of 2014, Swarovski is a family-owned and family-operated company that is run by fourth- and fifth-generation family members. Swarovski products are found in almost 2,000 stores in over 120 countries, and the company employs more than 20,000 employees. Swarovski continues to uphold Daniel Swarovski's guiding principle: To constantly improve what is good.
