Robert Piguet

Robert Piguet, left for Paris and took a job with two influential designers, first with Redfern and then with Paul Poiret. Piguet began to design his own fashions in 1933, and in the 1940s, he collaborated with Germaine Cellier to produce his own perfumes as an accompaniment to his elegantly designed fashions for women. Some of the most famous designers worked with Piguet, including Givenchy, Christian Dior, and Galanos. Until 1951 when it closed, Piguet's salon was enormously successful and influenced fashion for many years through the designers who worked for him.

Robert Piguet's first scent, Bandit, introduced in 1944, was meant for the emancipated woman. The name comes from its inspiration of seas and pirates. In 1945, he released Fracas, a scent considered to be the perfect tuberose perfume. Ownership of the brand changed hands several times. In the 1990s, it was bought by Fashion Fragrances & Cosmetics. The company has reintroduced Robert Piguet's perfumes, some using close to the original formula, and others slightly updated for the modern woman.
